Greetings from a summer filled with sunshine and smiles here in Dakar, Senegal! As the summer camp comes to a close, I could not be more excited to have been a part of such an incredible program. I worked with the 5th and 6th graders every morning for ESL and by the end of the camp, some of the students were finally coming out of their shells and feeling more confident to respond to questions. I also had the pleasure of working with the younger students, speaking a mixture of English, French, and Wolof. It has been a blast working alongside such talented individuals as well as discovering the students’ strengths and endless imaginations.
Now, the campers gear up for the final production of Tukki Takkol Nga Tekki. All of their hard work and effort will be seen on the stages of Dakar’s Grand Theater this coming Tuesday and I can’t wait to be there to check it out!
See you at Le Grand Théâtre National de Dakar this coming Wednesday, 7pm SHARP! You won’t want to miss it!
