It’s been one incredible 1st week of camp and filming. This weekend was all about catching up, getting ready, and getting some rest. But at Sunu Thiossane, we never stop. We were able to do a bit of research and prep for our upcoming showcase at Place du Souvenir on August 26!
We also visited Le Musee de la Femme Henriette Bathily, which is covered on our page Arts & Culture in Dakar, Senegal. But being there in person was a great expereince. The museum is small and unassuming but it’s mission and focus is one that matches its grand location. Although the exhibitions were entirely in French, it did not detract at all from the content of the museum. The permanent exhibition, on the second floor, pays homage to Senegalese women and traditions. The first floor, the temporary exhibition highlights influential women throughout the world. It is well worth the visit.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this week at Sunu Thiossane Summer Camp, on set of our short film, and in this amazing city!
Lots of love,
